South Mountain

South Mountain is a breeder of fainting (myotonic) goats in Northfield, MA, Franklin County and the Pioneer Valley near Springfield. Kimberly Barry has bred goats for more than a decade and is a member of the American Goat Society, with annual health assessments and genetic testing to maintain vigorous bloodlines.

Kids are raised on spacious pastures with regular handling to encourage calm temperaments and social confidence. The farm follows rotational grazing and an organic feed plan designed to support balanced nutrition and strong immune systems. Mature does and bucks live on well-drained paddocks with custom shelters that protect them from seasonal extremes. Each breeding season yields healthy litters averaging four to six kids, and yearlings are evaluated for structural soundness before placement.
