Skyfiber Ranch, LLC raises alpacas in Orlean, VA, in Fauquier County and the Piedmont region near Washington, DC. The ranch follows established health guidelines, including routine veterinary checkups and fleece assessments, to promote strong herds suited for fiber production. Each brood female undergoes annual fleece sampling to monitor micron count and maintain quality consistent with industry standards.

Animals live on well-drained pastures with open shelters, and daily handling supports gentle temperaments from a young age. Owner Aim’E Matheny balances herd management with a commitment to animal welfare and fiber quality. Spring shearing is performed on-site by experienced staff, and separate paddocks allow for rotational grazing to maintain pasture health.
