Skala Farm

Skala Farm is a family-run breeder of Fainting (Myotonic) goats in Blooming Prairie, MN, Southeastern Minnesota and the Mississippi River valley near Rochester. It has been breeding fainting goats for several years with a focus on solid structure, gentle dispositions, and long-term herd health.

The herd undergoes routine health screenings, nutritional assessments and a structured vaccination program following veterinary and state guidelines. Kayla Skala maintains detailed records of lineage and health outcomes to inform selective pairing and preserve temperament traits. She participates in regional goat producers’ associations to stay current on best management practices and sustainable care.

Kids are socialized through daily handling, seasonal pasture rotation, and access to an off-grid shelter, with ample space to browse and a balanced diet of forage and supplemental grains. As a small family operation, the farm provides one-on-one guidance for prospective owners and supports herd transitions smoothly.
