Silverline Genetics

Silverline Genetics is a breeder of Chianina cattle in Walton, Kansas, in Harvey County and the Wichita area. It participates in breed registry programs and conducts routine health testing and genetic evaluations focused on fertility and maternal traits. The farm began as a small family operation and has grown into a modest herd of registered cattle selected for structural soundness.

Nutrition follows a rotational grazing plan with mixed-grass pastures and supplemental hay during winter months. Calves spend their first weeks in secure paddocks with open-front shelters and regular, low-stress handling to build confidence. Under the care of owner Glen Michael Toews, the herd has grown steadily, providing breeding stock to nearby ranches interested in gentle temperaments and balanced conformation. Visitors from surrounding operations often drop by to review bloodlines in person and discuss breeding goals. Pasture rotations are adjusted seasonally to maintain forage quality and support optimal growth across all life stages.
