Rosengard Ranch

Rosengard Ranch, fainting (myotonic) goats, St. Pierre Jolys, MB, is located in Manitoba and the Pembina Valley near Winnipeg. Shannon Bell has been raising these gentle fainting goats for over a decade, recording clear pedigrees and working with breed association guidelines to maintain genetic health.

All breeding stock undergoes routine veterinary checks and nutritional evaluations before pairing. Our herd members receive daily pasture access, interactive socialization with the family, and occasional supervised barn visits to ensure calm dispositions, strong bone health, and familiarity with basic handling. Kids are raised in clean, spacious pens with fresh bedding, are bottle-trained when needed, and introduced to gentle handling routines early on for a smooth transition to outdoor life. Rotational grazing across mixed grass paddocks promotes pasture diversity, encourages natural browsing habits, and helps maintain soil health.

Routine hoof trimming, targeted mineral supplementation, and parasite management support healthy growth, strong hooves, and long-term comfort. The ranch’s small-scale operation maintains close attention to each animal’s well-being, reflecting a farmstead tradition that values quality over quantity.
