Rockycreek Labradors And Foxwood Norwich Terriers

Rockycreek Labradors and Foxwood Norwich Terriers has been breeding Labrador retrievers in Columbia, New Jersey, since the Mines family first began competing with the breed in 1969. Kathryn Mines and her family registered the Rockycreek kennel name with the AKC in 1974, making it one of the longer-running Labrador retriever programs in the region, within easy reach of the Delaware Water Gap and the greater Phillipsburg area.

The program's focus is on producing what the kennel calls "all-purpose" Labradors — dogs that can hold their own in the conformation ring, earn hunt test titles, and still settle into life as a family companion. Over the decades, Rockycreek dogs have earned championships at both all-breed and specialty shows, Junior through Master Hunter titles, and High in Trial honors in obedience and rally. Puppies are raised in a home environment, either with Kathryn directly or with trusted co-owners, and go through a structured socialization and development protocol before going home.

The kennel also breeds Norwich terriers under the Foxwood name, a program that dates to 1984. Both the Labrador retriever and Norwich terrier sides of the operation share the same emphasis on health, correct structure, and sound temperament.
