Ridge Valley Alpacas, LLC raises alpacas in Fairfield, Virginia, situated in the southern Shenandoah Valley between the Blue Ridge and Allegheny mountains. Owned and operated by Janis and John Conlon, the farm got its start in 2010 and has grown into a herd of roughly 57 animals spread across a hillside property with wide valley views.

The Conlons have built their program around fine-fleece genetics, drawing on well-regarded Snowmass bloodlines for their breeding stock. The farm's animals have produced champion-level offspring, and the breeding focus reflects a consistent interest in fleece quality alongside overall animal soundness.

Beyond alpaca sales in Virginia, Ridge Valley also operates the AbellaPaca Boutique on-site, where fiber products — including rovings, yarns, and finished goods — come largely from the farm's own herd. Janis spins, knits, and weaves herself, so handspun yarns and handmade items round out what the boutique carries. The farm also welcomes guests for tours and actively supports new alpaca breeders through mentorship and education.
