Red Dog Ranch

Red Dog Ranch, Dorper sheep, Monterey, Tennessee, is set in the Upper Cumberland region near Nashville.

Red Dog Ranch began over a decade ago with a pair of foundation ewes and now maintains a registered flock participating in national sheep registry programs. Each ewe and ram undergoes annual health screenings and hoof care, and lambs are handled daily from birth to encourage calm temperaments. Animals spend winter months in a well-ventilated barn with fresh bedding, plenty of space, and daily access to sunlit stalls.

Rotational grazing and natural forage in limestone pastures support soil health and animal well-being. Several of their breeding lines trace back to stock selected for consistent mothering instincts and fiber quality. Rolling limestone grasslands and pastures reflect the area’s farming heritage around the old stone barns. The flock’s calm nature is often noted by visitors during the spring lambing season.
