Rancho Linda Marchadores

Rancho Linda Marchadores in Bonsall, California has been at the forefront of Mangalarga Marchador horses on the West Coast since 2001, when founder Linda Holst brought the first of this Brazilian breed to California. The ranch is located in San Diego County's North County, roughly 40 miles north of downtown San Diego.

Linda Holst's program spans more than two decades of breeding, promoting, and importing Mangalarga Marchador horses with a focus on meeting the standards of the official Brazilian registry, the ABCCMM (Associação Brasileira dos Criadores do Cavalo Mangalarga Marchador). The ranch's horses carry both ABCCMM and USMAA dual registration, with breeding stock having undergone the Brazilian association's inspection process — which includes conformation and gait evaluation, microchipping, DNA sampling, and breed brand placement. Daniel Pulliam, a trainer with a background in Quarter Horses and thoroughbreds, joined Linda as co-owner and has since taken on an active role in showing and promoting Mangalarga Marchador horses in Southern California and beyond.

The program's foundation stallion, Batuque De Miami, was the first Mangalarga Marchador in California and helped introduce the breed to a wider audience, including a appearance in the 2002 Pasadena Rose Parade. The ranch has participated in Southern California Horsemans Council breed shows and collaborated with other breeders across the country to expand the genetic base of this relatively rare gaited breed in the United States. Together, Linda and Daniel also co-founded the Mangalarga Marchador Breeders Registry (MMBR) in Bonsall to help connect mare owners with available breeding stallions and support the continued growth of Mangalarga Marchador horses for sale in California and nationwide.
