Poodle Miniature Puppies-Bar King Poodles

Bar King Poodles has been raising miniature poodles in Citrus Heights, California since 1963, making it one of the longer-running poodle programs in Northern California. Owner Kathleen Poe, who goes by Kathy, began her involvement with the breed two years before the kennel was formally established, and her foundation in obedience competition eventually gave way to a deep focus on conformation.

Situated just north of Sacramento in the Sacramento Valley, the program has competed at shows across the United States and accumulated a notable record in the ring. Over the decades, Bar King has produced more than 100 AKC champions across three breeds, including five group winners, three all-breed Best in Show winners, and 30 Specialty Best in Show breed winners. Among the most celebrated dogs from the program was Ch. Bar King's Scintilla, a multiple all-breed BIS and Poodle Club of America National Specialty winner who was named the Quaker Oats Non-Sporting Dog of the Year in 1985 and went on to become the dam of 14 champions.

Kathy's focus has consistently been on breeding to the AKC standard for the miniature poodle, with an emphasis on sound temperament alongside conformation, obedience, and agility potential. Puppies are house-raised and come in black, brown, white, and cream.
