Ozark Legends Newfoundland and Caucasian Shepherd Dogs raises AKC Newfoundland dogs in West Plains, Missouri, in the Ozark highlands of south-central Missouri, roughly an hour south of Springfield. Owner Kimberly Ohse traces her interest in the breed back to childhood and began the program after she and her husband relocated to an 80-acre farm with a five-acre lake, a setting well suited to the water-loving dogs.

The program places equal emphasis on health, type, and temperament whether a puppy is headed to a family home or a show career, and all dogs carry champion pedigrees. Newfoundland puppies for sale from Ozark Legends are born in the home and socialized from birth by Ohse's five children and fourteen grandchildren. At five weeks, pups move to a climate-controlled play area where they transition to solid food and begin learning basic house-training routines, and weekly baths, blow-drying, and nail trims prepare them for grooming from an early age. Each puppy receives age-appropriate vaccinations and veterinary examination before going to a new home. The kennel also breeds Caucasian shepherd dogs alongside its Newfoundland lines.
