Northfield Farm

Northfield Farm is a breeder of Shire horses in Cornish, ME, in York County and the Lakes Region near Portland. Owned by Kelly Hand, it has bred Shire horses for several years with membership in national breeding associations and routine health testing for hips, feet, and eyes.

Foals are raised on open pasture with daily access to barns and regular turnout among the adult herd to foster strong social bonds. They work with a local equine veterinarian for regular health checks, dental care, vaccinations, and farrier visits to ensure each horse thrives at every life stage. Balanced nutrition from quality grass hay, grains, and mineral supplements supports steady growth and a healthy coat.
