Mythos Farm

Mythos Farm raises Juliana pigs on a smallholding in Barriere, BC, in the North Thompson River valley of British Columbia, roughly an hour north of Kamloops. The farm operates as a diversified smallholding, also keeping Nigerian Dwarf and Oberhasli dairy goats alongside heritage breed chickens.

The Juliana program at Mythos Farm draws on more than a decade of selective breeding, with the herd's founding genetics imported back into Canada in 2021 after an extensive process that included health testing and a three-month quarantine period. That history gives the program an unusually deep lineage for Juliana pig breeders in BC. Selection priorities center on conformation, lean muscling, compact size, and calm temperament — the farm notes that its sows accept handling of newborns without aggression, a trait reflecting generations of deliberate temperament work.

All animals are registered through the Juliana Pig Association and Registry (JPAR), making Mythos Farm one of the few sources for JPAR-registered Juliana pigs for sale in British Columbia. The farm evaluates breeding stock carefully for conformation before recommending animals for that purpose, typically preferring animals that have had time to develop fully before assessment.
