Muddy River Dachshunds

Muddy River Dachshunds raises miniature and tweenie dachshunds on a working ranch near Floresville, Texas, about 40 minutes south of San Antonio. Jennifer Luke started the program in late 2014, and the kennel takes its name from the San Antonio River that runs along the property — the dogs had a habit of coming home thoroughly muddy after a swim.

The program focuses on family-temperament miniature dachshunds for sale in Texas, with both shorthair and longhair coats offered across a wide range of colors, including dapples, piebalds, creams, chocolates, and several rarer patterns such as Isabella and blue. Dogs are raised on 140 acres and spend their days loose on the ranch rather than confined to kennels, sharing the land with horses and cattle.

All dogs carry AKC registration. The kennel has passed multiple AKC compliance inspections and holds a license through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, with a state inspection completed in January 2025. Puppies receive veterinary exams, and a vet home visit was conducted in October 2024 for annual exams and updated vaccinations.
