Mountaineer Farm

Mountaineer Farm, fainting myotonic goats, Salisbury, NC, is located in Rowan County and the Piedmont near Charlotte. Jason Goins has been raising fainting myotonic goats for over a decade and maintains registrations with national and regional goat associations to ensure herd integrity. Milk from the herd is tested for butterfat and herdbook records are maintained for each doe.

Kids are born and raised in a pasture-based setting where they can roam safe pens before moving into a climate-controlled barn for evening rest. Each goat undergoes routine health screening, including foot trimming and parasite control, and kids are socialized with visitors to encourage calm temperaments. Mountaineer Farm relies on a rotational grazing schedule to support soil health and forage diversity.

Several herd members have earned class ribbons at local fairs, reflecting steady progress in the breed standard and a commitment to balanced conformation and gentle character.
