The ranch traces its roots to a cattle brand first acquired by the Kokernot family around 1872, with the operation formally established at its current location in 1912. What began as a pure Hereford program has grown into one of West Texas's longest-running beef cattle operations, recognized for over a century of ranching in the Trans-Pecos region. The ranch is a partnership formed by descendants of a family with ties to the cattle business in Texas reaching back to the republic era.

Today, Les and Janet Magee are part of the operation carrying that legacy forward. Hereford cattle for sale in Texas don't often come with this depth of regional and breed history.
