KLS Farms

KLS Farms raises Limousin and Lim-Flex cattle in Chatham, Louisiana, a small community in the north-central part of the state roughly an hour east of Shreveport. Kevin Smith, the farm's owner, brings a deep family connection to the breed, having used Limousin bulls on commercial cows alongside his father, James Marshall, before making their first investment in purebred Limousin cows in 1994.

A formative influence on the program was Kevin's uncle, TJ Kervin of Kervin Cattle in Winfield, Louisiana, whose experience with the breed included ownership of notable bulls such as GPFF Blaque Rulon and JCL Lodestar. That foundation shaped the direction KLS Farms has taken over the years. The operation runs approximately 50 to 60 registered Limousin and Lim-Flex females, with Kevin also managing two satellite farms to expand the program's reach.

The farm places a particular emphasis on show heifer prospects, with cattle consigned to sales across the country through the North American Limousin Foundation.
