Kiwidinok Farm

Kiwidinok Farm raises Tibetan yak in Boyne City, Michigan, in the heart of northern Michigan's Charlevoix County region, about 60 miles north of Traverse City. Jim Dixon and his family operate the farm, which maintains a registered herd recognized through the International Yak Association (IYAK), with individual animals carrying both Foundation and Appendix registrations.

The herd spans multiple coat types and color classifications, including Imperial, Royal, and Native Trim animals, giving buyers looking for Tibetan yak for sale in Michigan a broad range of breeding-stock options. Considerable attention goes into socializing the animals from an early age — bulls and cows alike are handled regularly, with the goal of producing animals that are calm and approachable. The farm also keeps Katahdin sheep and alpacas alongside the yak.

Kiwidinok doubles as a working petting farm, so the yak are accustomed to regular human contact, which carries over into their temperament as breeding stock. Foundation cows in the herd trace back to well-known lines, and the farm has documented its breeding records and individual animal histories in detail.
