K-Bar Farms

K-Bar Farms raises gray and red Brahman cattle on roughly 480 acres north of New Orleans, in Amite, Louisiana. Owner Carolyn Kass Falgout comes from a third-generation farming family and has been building her Brahman herd since 1993, when the program got its start with foundation cattle sourced from respected Texas breeders.

Carolyn has served on multiple committees and as a director and executive committee member for both the American Brahman Breeders Association and the Louisiana Brahman Association, and her involvement in the breed extends well beyond Louisiana. She has judged Brahman cattle internationally and was the first woman to judge a cattle show in Thailand.

The show record behind this program is notable. K-Bar Farms has produced bulls that earned back-to-back ABBA Premier Show Bull of the Year titles — a father-and-son pair — and the farm holds the distinction of having more ABBA Premier Show Animals of the Year than any other single breeder. The 2021 National Brahman Show was dedicated to Carolyn in recognition of her contributions to the breed.
