Jangle Havanese

Jangle Havanese raises havanese in Lehigh Acres, Florida, in the greater Fort Myers area on the southwest Gulf Coast. Jean Nagle, the program's owner, has been part of the Southwest Florida dog community since 2005 and brought a background in showing Australian shepherds to her work with the breed before focusing on havanese.

Jean is a recognized AKC Breeder of Merit, participates in the AKC Bred With H.E.A.R.T. program, and has served as past president of the Havanese Club of America as well as the Greater Fort Myers Dog Club. Her commitment to health testing goes beyond what the Havanese Club of America's Code of Ethics requires, with all breeding dogs carrying CHIC numbers and undergoing additional screenings that include cardiac evaluations. Breeding to the AKC standard is a stated priority, and the program places an equal emphasis on dogs living as household companions rather than kennel residents.

All dogs in the program live inside the home as part of the family. Jean breeds selectively rather than for volume, and she screens prospective families carefully, including asking how many hours a puppy would be left alone each day. Havanese puppies in Florida from Jangle Havanese go home microchipped, with their first vaccinations and a State of Florida Health Certificate.
