Iq Farms Australian Shepherds

IQ Farms raises Australian shepherds and miniature American shepherds in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, in the rolling hill country of the Ozarks near Fayetteville. Katie Book runs the program as an integrated part of working farm life, where the dogs live alongside horses, goats, chickens, guineas, and cats.

All dogs in the program are registered with both ASCA and AKC, DNA profiled, and health tested. OFA evaluations are completed on any outside dogs brought into the breeding program. Dams receive vitamin supplements throughout gestation and lactation.

Puppies are whelped inside the home and spend their early weeks in that same environment before being introduced to the farm's adult dogs around four weeks of age. That broad daily exposure — to livestock, varied animals, and regular human activity — is a deliberate part of how IQ Farms prepares Australian shepherd puppies in Arkansas for life in a variety of homes.
