Hummingbird Ridge

Hummingbird Ridge is a fainting (myotonic) goat breeder in Harrison, AR, in the Ozark Mountains near Fayetteville. Janet Allen has been working with fainting goats for more than ten years, and its herd is registered with national goat associations and health tested according to best practice guidelines.

Hummingbird Ridge participates in local 4-H and county fair events to support youth involvement in agriculture. Kids and adults mingle freely with the herd, which grazes on rotational pasture and has access to shaded shelters, fresh water, mineral blocks, and seasonal browse year-round. Daily care includes hoof trimming, nutritional supplements, and early socialization to build friendly, calm temperaments.

The farm’s fainting goats have been featured at regional agricultural fairs and sustain sturdy health in varied weather. A neighbor noted the goats remain unflappable and personable at public events, reflective of the care they receive.
