Howell Brothers

Howell Brothers raise Shire horses on their family farm in Blackfoot, Idaho and the Snake River Plain near Pocatello. They have been involved in draft horse breeding for more than a decade, raising each foal under daily supervision and early groundwork, and maintain registration with the American Shire Horse Society.

Each horse undergoes routine veterinary screenings and hoof care to support long-term soundness. They participate in national evaluations and have received recognition for sound conformation and steady temperament at industry gatherings. The farm’s rolling pasture and shaded paddocks give young horses room to explore while daily handling builds trust.

Foals and seniors share adjacent paddocks to encourage calm interactions throughout the herd. Their approach balances traditional training with low-stress management so that horses adapt to varied work environments. Howell Brothers also show yearlings locally, sharing occasional highlights from regional fairs.
