Homespun Kennel breeds Australian shepherds and miniature American shepherds in Saugerties, NY, Ulster County and the Hudson Valley near Poughkeepsie. Sue Trnka has been committed to shepherd breeds for more than a decade, maintaining membership in national and regional breed clubs and following comprehensive health screening protocols.

Puppies grow up in a home environment alongside adult dogs, benefiting from daily socialization and hands-on care from the family. Their breeding dogs come from herding and agility lines, reflecting a focus on stable temperament and working ability. The kennel is situated on a small farm with fenced pastures and indoor access to support year-round comfort and supervised play.

Homespun Kennel offers ongoing guidance to new owners, sharing resources for training and health maintenance. Sue and her dogs also participate in community events, introducing puppies to new sights and sounds from an early age.
