Gotta Goat Farm
Gotta Goat Farm raises miniature silky fainting goats just outside of Penticton, British Columbia, in the South Okanagan. Run by Cindy and Jeff Campbell, the farm sits in a small valley surrounded by mountains near Apex, roughly an hour south of Kelowna.
The Campbells came to goat farming somewhat by chance after falling for the breed on their retirement property, and over the years built a herd of more than 50 animals. Their breeding program centers on miniature silky fainting goats (myotonics), with does and bucks registered through both the Myotonic Goat Registry and the Miniature Silky Fainting Goat Association — making GottaGoat one of a small number of MSFGA-approved breeding farms in British Columbia. Nigerian dwarf goats, miniature Nubians, and miniature Lamanchas round out the herd alongside the mini silkies.
Music plays in the barn around the clock, and the Campbells treat animal care as an educational endeavor, sharing husbandry insights through their farm website and on-farm visits. For anyone searching for fainting goat breeders in BC, the farm's dual-registry stock and hands-on approach to raising miniature goats give it a distinct foothold in the Canadian market.
