Good Go Ing

Good Go Ing, operated by Jason Gooding in Baldwin, Wisconsin, raises English setters and Labrador retrievers with a sporting dog focus rooted in more than 40 years of experience breeding and training field dogs. Baldwin sits in St. Croix County in western Wisconsin, roughly 30 miles east of the Twin Cities metro area.

The program centers on Ryman-type English setters selected from Classic and Shooting Dog lines, bred to work close in grouse, woodcock, pheasant, and quail country. English setters here are registered with the Field Dog Stud Book, and the kennel screens its breeding dogs for OFA hips, OFA elbows, and BAER hearing before they enter the program. Only dogs that meet standards for hunting desire, pointing and retrieving instinct, physical soundness, temperament, and conformation are used.

The Labrador retrievers come from field trial and hunting lines suited to both upland bird hunting and waterfowl work. Good Go Ing also offers professional sporting dog training on the property, rounding out a program built around producing dogs that are capable in the field and sound companions at home.
