Gentry Boxers And Boston Terriers

Gentry Boxers and Boston Terriers has been breeding AKC boxers in Porter, Texas, in the greater Houston area, since 1973, when owner Paula Vandervoort established the program under the original name Jafra Boxers.

Paula holds a degree in Science and Animal Physiology from Arizona State University, with a focus on biology, genetics, and animal reproduction. That academic foundation runs alongside a deep commitment to holistic care: puppies are raw fed and naturally reared, with homeopathy, essential oils, and flower essences used in place of conventional chemical protocols. Paula is a student of the American Council of Animal Naturopathy and has presented workshops to veterinarians and breeders on natural rearing practices.

Health screening is a central part of the boxer program here, with breeding decisions weighted against degenerative myelopathy status, thyroid results, conformation, and temperament. The program aims to produce boxer puppies in Texas suited for pet, show, performance, and therapy homes. Paula has also served in leadership roles with both the Sacramento Valley Boxer Club and the Boxer Club of Arizona. Boston terriers, raised on the same natural rearing philosophy, are a more recent addition to the kennel, rounding out a program with more than five decades of continuous involvement in AKC conformation and performance events.
