Fondren's Fainters
Fondren's Fainters, fainting (myotonic) goats, Bethel Springs, TN, in McNairy County and West Tennessee near Memphis. Frances B Fondren has more than a decade of experience breeding these goats and is registered with the American Goat Society. Each kid is raised on open pasture with daily social interaction, balanced nutrition and regular health screening, including tests for caprine arthritis encephalitis and caseous lymphadenitis.
Adults and kids alike live in a light-filled barn with adjoined paddocks that support natural movement, varied forage grazing and seasonal shelter. Their herd thrives under a rotational grazing program that promotes soil health, pasture regeneration and overall animal well-being through varied grazing areas.
Fondren's gentle approach to husbandry, rooted in early socialization and low-stress handling, results in stock prized for their calm temperaments and friendly disposition. Several herd members have placed at county agricultural shows and fairs, highlighting their consistent conformation and structural soundness. Detailed records track lineage, performance metrics and kidding history to support transparent, selective breeding decisions over successive generations.
