Foggy Mountain Fainters, fainting (myotonic) goats, Rogersville, TN, Hawkins County and the Tri-Cities near Kingsport. The farm has been working with fainting goats for over a decade, following industry guidelines, conducting health screenings for parasites and genetic conditions, and using rotational grazing to protect pastures.

Pasture-based husbandry, scheduled disbudding and hoof trimming, and daily handling support social and physical well-being, with kids vaccinated and introduced to varied environments from an early age. Barn and shelter spaces are cleaned regularly, and natural forage supplements a balanced diet. Owner Rhonda Ward applies her background in animal science to maintain a calm setting that suits the goats’ gentle temperament. Breeding pairs are selected for health and temperament, and the herd includes registered stock evaluated for conformation and balanced traits. This approach has fostered a small community of enthusiasts who appreciate the breed’s easygoing nature and adaptability to homestead life.
