Fissan American Eskimos -- Carol Nassif

Fissan American Eskimos, run by Carol Nassif out of Farmington, Minnesota, has been breeding American Eskimo dogs since 1988, with roots tracing back to a foundation of standard-size eskies built over decades of dedicated showing and breeding.

Carol began formal dog training in the 1970s through 4-H and has competed in both AKC and UKC events since 1988. Her daughter Angel, who grew up in the sport, handles dogs alongside her and has earned titles including Champion, Grand Champion, CGC, Rally, Obedience, Therapy Dog, and Trick Dog. The kennel name itself is Carol's last name spelled backwards — a small detail that reflects how personally intertwined family and dogs are at Fissan.

The program's lineage traces to a foundation female, 'PR' Jaybar McKinley Maggie Too, who won Best of Breed at the Westminster Kennel Club in 1998 and earned the title of National Grand Champion — at the time, the first female American Eskimo to receive that honor at a Fall national. Today's Fissan dogs are descendants of that line. Carol holds an AKC Bronze Breeder of Merit designation, and the kennel pursues OFA and CHIC health certifications for its dogs. She is also a member of the American Eskimo Dog Club of America, the UKC National American Eskimo Dog Association, and serves as president of the Northern Lights American Eskimo Dog Association.
