First Class Bassets And Bedlingtons

First Class Bassets and Bedlingtons has been raising basset hounds and bedlington terriers in Gardnerville, Nevada, in the Carson Valley just south of Carson City, since the early 1970s for bassets and since 1995 for bedlingtons. Jacquelyn Fogel, who has been involved with AKC dogs since acquiring her first basset in 1969, holds AKC Breeder of Merit status and has served as a breed judge at national specialty events.

The program has a long record in AKC conformation competition across both breeds, and dogs from this kennel have earned titles in multiple countries. Basset hound puppies and bedlington terrier puppies bred in Nevada by Fogel reflect that same show-lineage background, with pedigrees traceable through generations of titled dogs.

Dogs are kept in a home-kennel environment with indoor sleeping areas and access to outdoor runs. Puppies receive daily handling and socialization from an early age, and adult dogs benefit from regular exercise on nearby ranchland in the open terrain of the eastern Sierra Nevada foothills.
