Bar H Farms

Bar H Farms raises European basset hound puppies and Pembroke Welsh corgis on a working farm in Harwood, Missouri, a small town in the western part of the state near Nevada, MO and within the broader gateway to the Ozarks region. Landon Hutchison runs the operation as a family farm where the dogs live alongside livestock and are treated as part of the household.

The basset hound program is built around AKC-registered, 100% European lines, with parent dogs carrying AKC championships and Grand Championships earned in the show ring. Breeding stock is health tested for the five known basset hound genetic diseases, including POAG, Thrombopathia, X-Linked, Lafora, and MPS1, through PawPrint and OFA. The corgi parents are also genetically tested, and the program traces at least some maternal lines back multiple generations within the farm.

Bar H Farms keeps its operation intentionally small so that each litter receives hands-on attention.
