Faints And Feathers
Faints and Feathers raises fainting (myotonic) goats in Rocky View County, Alberta, northwest of Calgary. The operation is run by Dawn Barrett and got its start in 2016, when the herd was established and has been growing steadily since.
In 2019, Faints and Feathers became a registered breeder with the Myotonic Goat Registry (MGR). Four years later, the program expanded to include mini silkie goats, and the farm received its Miniature Silky Fainting Goat Association (MSFGA) certificate in 2023, making it one of a small number of dual-registered fainting goat breeders in Alberta.
The herd is maintained as a closed, vaccinated group, and animals are tested for both Johnes disease and CAE, with results available to buyers. For those searching for registered fainting goat breeders in Alberta, the program covers both short-haired standard myotonics through the MGR and long-haired mini silkie lines through the MSFGA.
