Esselburn Grain & Cattle, Shorthorn cattle, Shreve, Ohio, are rooted in Wayne County and the Canton area. As a third generation operation, the Esselburn family blends traditional farm values with evolving herd management practices. They have been raising Shorthorn cattle for more than twenty years, participate in registry programs and carry out recommended health screenings to monitor genetic and hoof wellness.

On their rolling pastures, cattle graze under a rotational system and enjoy open-sided shelters during Ohio’s winter months. Newborn calves are handled daily by Thomas and Kelly Esselburn to build calm temperaments and familiarize them with feeding routines. Their breeding goals focus on balanced structure and reliable maternal instincts, qualities noted by several area livestock exhibitors. Their cattle serve both commercial feeders and local 4-H exhibitors, reflecting the breeders’ commitment to quality and community. The partnership maintains on-farm feed production and keeps buyers informed about each animal’s background and ongoing care.
