Emelise Alpacas

Emelise Alpacas has been raising alpacas in Hampton, New Jersey since 2002, when Susan and Wayne Robinson started their herd with just two males and two females on agricultural land they had owned in Hunterdon County since 1993. The farm sits in a rural corner of western New Jersey, roughly 25 miles northwest of Somerville.

The farm's name carries personal meaning — it was formed from the names of the Robinsons' two daughters, Emma and Elise. Susan and Wayne have applied their backgrounds in scientific and clinical research to build the herd methodically, beginning by selecting the strongest females available and then making breeding decisions to accentuate the best traits of those foundation dams. The program focuses on producing conformationally correct, fine-fleeced alpacas across a full range of colors.

The herd's bloodlines include Matrix Majesty, Elixir, Jerimiah, Rayo del Sol, and CCNF Cameron, among others. The farm has shown its animals competitively and earned ribbons and banners at shows, including judges' choice awards and specialty fleece recognitions.
