Ellender Ranch
Ellender Ranch raises fainting (myotonic) goats in Montegut, LA, in southeastern Louisiana near New Orleans. Jodi Ellender has bred fainting (myotonic) goats for more than a decade, maintaining registrations with national and local breed associations and attending regional livestock gatherings.
Each animal undergoes routine veterinary exams, pasture rotations, and targeted parasite management to ensure a healthy herd year-round. Kids are raised underfoot in a pasture-based environment, learning to browse and interact gently with people. Their herd includes multiple bloodlines chosen for calm temperaments and reliable reproduction.
Seasonal kidding each spring yields uniform groups of doelings and bucklings ready for lifelong companionship on homesteads or small farms. The ranch’s layout includes shaded loafing areas, rotational pastures, and sturdy fencing to support safe movement and socialization. As a multigenerational family farm, Ellender Ranch blends traditional husbandry with sustainable grazing practices across rolling pastures and wooded edges.
