Eclipse Portuguese Water Dogs

Eclipse Portuguese Water Dogs has been breeding Portuguese water dogs since 2005, when the program got its start in Ireland with a foundation dog named Harvey. Rachael Gordon, who holds a veterinary degree (MVB), relocated the program to Flemington, New Jersey in 2013, bringing that Irish lineage to the central Jersey countryside roughly an hour southwest of New York City.

The kennel operates on a 16-acre farm that the team has developed into what they describe as an adventure park for their dogs, giving the water dogs ample room to swim, run, and engage in the active life the breed is built for. The dogs also participate in AKC conformation, with one of the program's females, Summer, earning an AKC championship title along with a Canine Good Citizen certification. Joseph Kelly, a certified professional canine companion trainer, is part of the team as well, adding a training-focused dimension to how the program prepares its dogs.
