Dixie Dairy

Dixie Dairy is a small goat farm in Coldwater, Mississippi, run by Kayla Simpson, raising Nigerian dwarf goats alongside mini Nubians, mini LaManchas, and mini alpines. The program traces its roots to around 2010, when a family need for an alternative to conventional dairy milk led Kayla to Nigerian dwarfs — a choice that grew into a multi-breed dairy herd over the following years.

Health testing is taken seriously across the herd. All goats are tested annually for CAE at minimum, and any animals coming onto the farm are screened for CAE, CL, Johnes, brucellosis, and Q fever. Standard alpine does used as primary milk contributors are also randomly selected for additional brucellosis and Q fever testing.

The farm's Nigerian dwarf goats for sale in Mississippi are registered with ADGA and AGS, and the program has a performance-herd focus, with does participating in milk testing. Udder quality, dairy strength, and production are among the traits Kayla actively selects for when choosing herd sires. The farm also participates in local 4H and FFA goat shows through Tate County 4H and Independence FFA.
