Davis Limousin Ranch

Davis Limousin Ranch has been raising registered Limousin cattle in Brownwood, Texas, in the heart of central Texas about an hour southeast of Abilene, since 1984. Brad L. Davis founded the operation with just three head of cattle purchased with earnings from his own show steer, and the herd has since grown to more than 150 registered Limousin and Lim-Flex cattle.

The program is a family effort. Brad's daughter Blair, who spent her junior career showing Limousin cattle at county, state, and national levels, returned to the ranch after college and has taken on ranch management responsibilities. Herd manager Corey Sanchez, a Texas A&M alumnus who first bought a show steer from the ranch as a sixth-grader, joined the team full-time in 2017, adding deep breed knowledge to the day-to-day operation.

The ranch's guiding philosophy centers on selecting cattle that address present-day challenges while building toward future utility. Herd sire selection has played a key role in the program's development, with bulls evaluated for traits including bone structure, foot size, pastern quality, and overall volume.
