Crooked Horn Farm
Crooked Horn Farm raises fainting (myotonic) goats in Staffordsville, VA, Craig County and the New River Valley near Blacksburg. Randy Ott has more than a decade of experience breeding fainting (myotonic) goats and holds certifications in responsible animal husbandry through state extension programs.
Kids receive early socialization through daily handling, and adult goats graze on mixed-species pasture with rotational grazing to promote optimal nutrition. Barnyard shelters offer straw bedding and ample ventilation, while electrified perimeter fencing helps keep the herd safe from predators. Their herd undergoes annual CAE and CL testing alongside foot trimming and parasite screenings to support long-term herd health.
Randy’s approach reflects lessons learned from a family tradition of hillside farming, combining patience with hands-on care to nurture calm, approachable goats. The farm participates in local agricultural events, sharing breeding insights and showcasing gentle-tempered goats bred for sound structure and steady movements.
