Coon Creek Farm

Coon Creek Farm raises Simmental cattle in Bad Axe, MI, Huron County and the Thumb near Port Huron. Peter Shupe and Wes Keller are members of the American Simmental Association and have been selectively breeding for calving ease and growth performance for over ten years. Their cattle graze on diverse pastures and receive routine health screenings along with early socialization to trailers and farm activity. The farm employs a rotational grazing system that enhances soil health and animal welfare throughout each season.

Several young bulls from recent herds have qualified for performance testing benchmarks in feed efficiency. Their registered herd traces its lineage to foundation sires known for docility and structural soundness, and calving pens are equipped with sheltered, well-drained bedding areas for year-round comfort. Breeding decisions emphasize balanced EPD profiles to match both commercial and show ring expectations. Current herd numbers typically range between twenty and thirty head, allowing for personalized care.
