Colo State University

Colo State University breeds Hereford cattle in Fort Collins, CO, serving northern Colorado near Denver. It has more than 50 years of experience in livestock management as part of its land-grant mission, with membership in national breed associations and rigorous genetic and health testing. Animals are raised on rotational pasture with access to barn shelter, where daily hands-on care, early handling and social exposure help calves develop confidence and adaptability. The herd contributes to research on sustainable grazing and animal nutrition, and several animals have earned breed-conformation champions at regional fairs.
