Clemens Cattle

Clemens Cattle raises Chianina in Bernard, Iowa, in Dubuque County and the Driftless Area near Dubuque. They are members of the Iowa cattlemen’s association and a national Chianina breeders’ group, collaborating on breed improvement and standards. They follow recommended health screenings including vaccinations, annual herd examinations, and parasite management.

Their Chianina herds graze on rotational pasture, with rations balanced using local hay and minerals, and they have regular visits from a large-animal veterinarian. Calves are handled daily by Wesley Clemens and Whitney Clemens to promote calm temperaments and encourage their early human socialization.
