Clattenburg Ridgebacks raises Rhodesian ridgebacks on Clattenburg Ranch in Holden, Louisiana, about 30 miles east of Baton Rouge in the Tangipahoa Parish area. Sharlane Clattenburg and her family have had Rhodesian ridgebacks since 1980, giving the program decades of hands-on experience with the breed in southeast Louisiana.

The kennel's breeding stock draws from some of Africa's longest-established ridgeback lines, including imports and descendants of dogs from South African and Russian bloodlines tracing back to kennels such as Lionsriver, Mushana, Glenholm, and Clachan, among others. Health testing is a consistent part of the program, with dogs screened for hip certification and degenerative myelopathy, and the breeding stock is selected for correct ridge, sound conformation, proper color, and correct markings.
