Circle H Basset Hounds

Circle H Basset Hounds raises basset hounds outside of Konawa, Oklahoma, a small community in central Oklahoma roughly an hour southeast of Oklahoma City. Stevy Hill, who operates the program, grew up with bassets and has raised her children alongside them, keeping the focus squarely on family-oriented dogs.

The breeding stock at Circle H includes dogs with significant European bloodlines, and all adult dogs are genetically tested before breeding for the four hereditary conditions specific to the breed: Primary Open Angle Glaucoma, Severe Combined Immunodeficiency Disease, Thrombopathia, and Lafora Disease. Puppies are registered with the AKC and leave with a health report from a veterinarian.

Litters are raised inside the home, where puppies are exposed to the sounds and rhythms of an active household from birth. The program's return policy reflects a long-term commitment to its dogs — any Circle H basset hound is welcome back at any age, no questions asked, should an owner's circumstances ever change.
