Cimarron European Boxers

Cimarron European Boxers, run by Christy Sterling and her family in Oskaloosa, Iowa, has been breeding European boxer dogs for close to two decades. The program draws exclusively on European bloodlines, with a stated goal of placing well-socialized boxers in both show and pet homes across the region — making it a notable source for boxer puppies in Iowa.

Health testing is central to how the kennel operates. Breeding dogs are evaluated through OFA hip, heart, and echo assessments, as well as genetic screening for degenerative myelopathy (DM) and arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC), with Holter monitoring conducted on select dogs as well. Each puppy leaves the program backed by a five-year health guarantee.

The Sterling family — Christy, her husband Jonathan, and their five daughters — are deeply involved in the day-to-day care of the dogs, giving the program a notably family-centered character.
