K's approach is deliberate and small in scale — litters are occasional, and the ridgebacks are kept as part of the household pack rather than in a kennel setting. Adult dogs undergo comprehensive OFA and DNA health testing that covers cardiac, patella, elbow, hip, and thyroid clearances, as well as breed-specific genetic conditions such as degenerative myelopathy, hemophilia B, and juvenile myoclonic epilepsy. Adults are fed a partial raw diet, and breeding females are transitioned to raw in the weeks before and throughout gestation.

Puppies are raised on the farm alongside cats, chickens, ducks, rabbits, and horses, giving them broad early exposure to both animals and people. Early neurological stimulation and select elements of Puppy Culture are incorporated into puppy rearing.
