Chex Alaskan Malamutes and Papillons, run by Randy Checketts out of Hooper, Utah, has focused on giant Alaskan malamutes and AKC papillons for roughly thirty years. Hooper sits in Weber County, about 20 miles northwest of Ogden, in the broad agricultural stretch of the northern Wasatch Front.

The malamute side of the program draws from M'Loot gentle giant lines and emphasizes temperament and health above all else. Coats range across woolie and plush types, and the color variety includes reds, agouti, black, seal, and deep dark mahogany. A number of past pups have gone on to work as therapy dogs, and others have proven to be steady companions for children with autism.
