Carl W. Massey

Carl W. Massey, Percheron horses, Banner, MS, on a small farm in south Mississippi near Hattiesburg. He has bred Percherons for more than a decade and currently holds membership in the American Percheron Horse Association. All breeding stock undergoes regular health testing, including evaluations for hereditary conditions and routine farrier assessments. Massey emphasizes daily turnout and hands-on socialization to promote strong bone and muscle development in growing foals.

His gentle Percherons have been selected for draft horse pulls, local exhibitions, and therapeutic programs that benefit from patient temperaments. The farm’s heritage dates back to early settlers who valued draft horses for timber and field work. Consistent soil management and attentive care contribute to sound hooves and steady dispositions across each generation of stock. Open-barn facilities and well-ventilated stables aim to minimize stress and support healthy growth in all herd members.
