Cammcastle Rottweilers, Reg. has been breeding rottweilers in Harrisonburg, Virginia, in the Shenandoah Valley roughly an hour from Charlottesville, since at least the late 1980s. Owner Suzan Guynn traces the program's foundation to 1988, when a search for a foundation bitch led to Ch. Seren's Just Dazzling Zanne, CDX, CGC, TDI — a dog who went on to earn American Rottweiler Gold Dam status, a place in the Medallion Rottweiler Club Hall of Fame, and multiple Dog World Awards.

The program has produced over 240 AKC champions across its history, including multiple all-breed Best in Show and Best in Specialty Show winners, American Rottweiler Club Top Twenty honorees, and owner-handled Best in Show winners. Dogs from Cammcastle have also competed at the Westminster Kennel Club and earned titles in obedience, agility, conformation, therapy work, and water rescue. The 2022 American Rottweiler Club BERTE Award recognized the kennel as a top producer that year.
